What is canyoning?
„Canyoning (known as canyoneering in the U.S.) is traveling in canyons using a variety of techniques that may include other outdoor activities such as walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling (rappelling), and swimming.Although hiking down a canyon that is non-technical, (canyon hiking) is often referred to as canyoneering, the terms canyoning and canyoneering are more often associated with technical descents — those that require abseils (rappels) and ropework, technical climbing or down-climbing, technical jumps, and/or technical swims.” more info
There are several canyons located in the valley of Bovec, and within a short driving distance there are also a few canyons in Italy.
We offer tours for participants with different levels of experience (starting from zero) with professional tuition. Every canyoning tour begins with a walking tour where you can take some expansive views on the river valley.
Throughout the tour you’ll encounter waterfalls, fast-flowing water, and pounding cascades. The drops are done either by jumping into the deep, foaming, blue pools or by using abseil/rappel techniques (help is ensured by our expert guides).

Sušec
The Sušec canyon is within a 15-minute scenic drive from Bovec. After changing in the parking lot of Sušec, the trek begins with an 30-minute approach to the canyon start, where everyone will suit up. After a comprehensive safety briefing our expert guides will teach you how to master your progression down the canyon.
Nature is with us, as the first few waterfalls are short (1-2 meter high) where you can focus on skill-learning with the first jumps/slides. While progressing through the canyon the waterfalls are becoming higher (up to 8 meter high).
Every cliff or waterfall has special characteristics that our experienced guides will explain to you, so your jump/slide would be safe. In case you felt that a certain challenge is not for you, you could just walk along the riverside and enjoy the sight of the pure nature. The tour ends at the parking lot where we change and head back to Bovec.
Allow 3.5-4 hours base to base – with 2-2.5 hours spent in the canyon. The walking tour takes 20-30 minutes.

For this tour previous canyoning experience is desirable, if you have no experience you can join us on the Sušec canyon to gain confidence and skills with professional tuition.
The trip starts with a 30-minute drive passing through the picturesque sights of the valley to Kobarid. You’ll set off on foot, and after a 30-minute walk up the hills, it’s time for the serious adventure and excitement to begin. As you start your descent through the canyon, you’ll progress through waterfalls that are up to 8-meter high. The most prominent feature is a 18-meter waterfall at the very end of the tour. This drop can done with either a jump into the deep, foaming, blue pool or with an abseil/rappel. The return to the parking lot is along the Kozjak river.
For those who get hungry after the canyoning mission, we highly recommend the ‘Lazar Camping’ pancake house who offer the highly praised homemade sweet and salty pancakes in the area.
